Malayan Tapir

The Malayan tapir is an Asian species of the tapir family while most other tapirs live in the Americas.

Tapirs are distant relatives of the horse — that is they are also in the order of Perissodactyla (One-toed ungulates) like horses — even though tapirs somehow manage to look more like some sort of cross between a pig and an elephant. Tapirs have a prehensile proboscis (long nose). The Malayan tapir has an especially long and flexible nose.
