Green Anaconda

The green anaconda, often referred to just as “anaconda” is the largest snake currently in existence.

Green Anaconda.

Green anaconda (Eunectes murinus), exhibited during a Canadian Pet Expo.

The green anaconda is a primarily aquatic boa species that spends significant time in water. A fully grown anaconda is quite capable of killing and eating a fully grown human, so caution is advised where anacondas slither and swim around in the wild.

In spite of the danger they pose on humans, or sometimes perhaps because of it, some people do keep green anacondas as pets. It is not advised unless you are a snake expert, or have a serious death wish.
Given a chance a full grown anaconda probably will eat your pets, your neighbor, your children and even you. So anyone considering an anaconda as a pet should first think long and hard what they are getting into and if they can handle such a large and strong snake.

Unless you know what you are doing better stick to keeping ball pythons.
