Mexican Beaded Lizard

The Mexican beaded lizard is a venomous lizard from Mexico that looks a lot like the closely related gila monster, except it has yellowish patches not pink ones.

In most respects the Mexican beaded lizard is a lot like a gila monster, similarly venomous, and harmless to humans if left alone.

In spite of the possibility of painful bites and the possibility of envenomation some people keep Mexican beaded lizards as pets, even breed them in captivity. If you can’t resist the temptation at least do yourself a favor and do not harass the animal. That seems to be a good way to get bitten.
