Bubble-tip Anemone That Lives On

Some time ago I wrote about the first bubble-tip anemone that I have ever owned.

Entacmaea quadricolor.

I was told that this was a piece of my first bubble tip anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor). The animal keeps splitting in other people’s tanks. Since it has a lovely color, pieces of it can be sold at a good price.
This picture was taken at a Marine Aquarium Society of Toronto auction.

I have already posed the philosophical question if an animal is truly dead if pieces of it go on living. While I have lost the anemone some time ago, several copies of it live in other people’s tanks and they occasionally surface at auctions.

It was one piece allegedly split from another bubble tip anemone that I have sold some years ago.
